Years of active and intense physical exercise have shaped his body to what it is, but age has finally caught up with him, coupled with a decrease in the intensity of his schedule have lead to a slowly building down of his muscle mass. He still looks imposing with his broad chest and strong shoulders. Years of intensive work have lead to wrinkles and lines on his face, of which he is proud. He has a scar across his chest where a disruptor bolt hit him during a planetary mission.

Personality & Traits

General Overview A long career in Starfleet has made Scott a jaded man. He is not all that approachable nor all that likeable. He will be honest with you, even if it hurts. This however, doesn’t mean he lacks sympathy or compassion.

To his friends Scott will be a rock. A stable pillar that will give honest, clear advice. He will also tell you if you’re being a dick.
Ambitions Scott has completed most of his ambitions over the years. Right now, he just wants to see the galaxy and retire after this tour.
Hobbies & Interests Hiking, good whiskey, swimming, chess.

Personal History Scott comes from a traditional family. He grew up in the forests of rural Scotland. Starting as a boy, Simon was always found climbing trees, building huts, and later in life hunting and other outdoor activities.

He first enlisted in Starfleet at 23 years, after failing his first year in medical school. It was meant as a stopgap until he found his next true love in life. It turned out, this would be what he was doing for the better part of his life. He started in engineering and worked his way up over the years until he was the senior Machinist's Mate on Intrepid-class SS Beagle.

In his off-time he attended as many night classes and lectures as possible to collect college credits and finally graduate with a bachelors in elecitrical engineering.

With his promotion to E-6, Scott applied to OCS for the third, and probably final time, when he was accepted. The course was interesting for the now 30 year old NCO. It didn't teach him many new leadership skills, for he had developed most of those in his previous years, but it gave him more insight in different tactics, approaches and in general was very educational.

Freshly commisioned as an Ensign he was assisgned to Starfleet Command as part of the technical support staff as the lead on a Energy Network Team. He stayed there for 2 years until being promoted to lieutenant junior grade and being transferred to the SS Hood, a Neptune-class. There he worked as third in command in the engineering staff and supervisor for all energy related tasks.

It took another 4 years before being promoted to full lieutenant and being moved up to assistant Chief Engineer on the SS Hood. It was also on the Hood he fell in love with Abigail Battleworth, the Hood's medical officer. Their romance was short-lived as the commanding officer, Captain Bellatine was informed of the romance and intervened, stating that his ship did not condone fraternization between officers. Abigail chose to be transferred back to Starfleet Medical on Earth, and their attraction to each other was not yet strong enough to sustain. She would always be the one that got away for Scott.

He was skipped for a round of promotions for Lieutenant Commander, in part because his captain, Bellatine, did not endorse him, but also because there was no current billet for him to take up as Chief Engineer. The reason Bellatine wouldn't endorse him was because he was met with fierce resistance by Scott for trying to push through changes to the ship's system that would have disastrous effects. While Bellatine eventually understood and accepted Scott's point, he disapproved the methods used to push through his point.

After six years as a lieutenant he made Lieutenant Commander and was transferred off the Hood, to the Okinawa, another Neptune-class as Chief Engineer. He served here with pleasure and distinction for a year before the XO changed and arguments soon ensued. Two strong personalities clashed on grounds of personnel management and the application of corrective measures.

This lead to the point that after another year, the position on the Eagle became available, for which Scott applied and was accepted.
